Azusa Police Arrest Second Suspect For Motel Robbery

On Wednesday, April 1st, we reported on our website an armed robbery which had occurred at the Super 8 Motel at 117 N. Azusa Avenue in Azusa. At the time of the call, an Azusa Police officer located a suspect fleeing the location and arrested him for the robbery. Click here to read the original news release for this crime.

The Azusa Police Department's Detective Bureau immediately began an investigation into the crime. Through great work of the Azusa Police Department's evidence technician, evidence was recovered at the crime scene. The department's detectives pursued leads which led them to the second suspect, who was subsequently arrested as well.

The suspects, Neville Sykes (54 years old from Los Angeles) and Wesley Megaw (44 years old from Los Angeles), have been charged with violation of section 209 of the California Penal Code, which is kidnapping during a robbery, as well as for violation of section 211, which is committing a robbery.
