Commercial Burglary at Local Pub

Commercial Burglary at Local Pub

On May 14, 2015 at 8:53 AM, Azusa Police Officers initiated an investigation into a Burglary that occurred at Callahan’s Irish Pub and Grill (200 S. Irwindale Ave).  According to the preliminary investigation, between approximately 11:30 PM on May 13, 2015 and 8:30 AM on May 14, 2015, unknown suspect/suspects forced open a door to the location.  Once inside, the suspect(s) damaged a surveillance camera, and attempted to pry open an ATM.   The suspects took a safe and cash out of the register drawers.  Between the safe and the cash drawers, approximately $2,000.00 in cash was stolen. During the course of the investigation, the Long Beach Police Department recovered the safe in a dumpster within their jurisdiction.   An alert witness in Long Beach observed a thinly built African American adult male driving a white Honda 4 door discarding the safe in the dumpster. This incident is currently under investigation by the Azusa Police Department.  Anyone with information regarding this burglary is encouraged to contact the Azusa Police Department Detective Bureau at (626) 812-3200.
