Azusa PD Uses Nixle For Emergency Alerts. Are You A Subscriber?

Nixle alerts are sent by verified public safety and educational institutions to the subscribing public. When you receive a Nixle alert, you are 100% guaranteed the alert is from an actual authorized source - not a friend, imposter, or joke teller.

When Does The Azusa Police Department Use Nixle?

We use Nixle when we need to give an official notice to the public regarding an incident or person. This can range from heavy traffic delays following a car accident, to evacuation orders during floods, landslides or fires.

How Do I Sign Up For Nixle?

Signing up for Nixle alerts from the Azusa Police Department is easy. Select from one of the following options:

Option 1
Send a the text message of AZPD or AZUSAPD to 888-777. This will enroll you for text messages only. To receive an email, in addtion to text messages, please use Option 2

Option 2

  1. Go to www.nixle.com
  2. Click on “Sign Up Now!”
  3. Create an account by choosing a User Name and Password
  4. Enter an e-mail address and cell phone number where you would like to receive messages
  5. Enter your address (or a nearby intersection)
  6. Click “Sign Me Up”

I'm Getting Too Many Notifications. What Can I Do?

If you want to limit the notifications you receive to just the Azusa Police Department, or the department responsible for where you work, for example, you can do the following:

  1. Log in at www.nixle.com
  2. Click “Locations”
  3. Click “Add Location” to add addresses in your town or around the country
  4. Select which options you want
  5. Click "Save"

If you want to modify the type of messages you receive from your current agencies:

  1. Click on "Settings"
  2. Select if you want Email
  3. Select if you want Text messages, and the type of message
