Brush Fire Quickly Extinguished in Azusa

On July 3, 2017, at approximately 10:37 pm, the Azusa Police Department Dispatch received a report of a brush fire adjacent to the exit bridge from the Mountain Cove Community at 2025 N. San Gabriel Canyon Road in Azusa.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a brush fire was burning below the bridge. Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department took control of the scene and were able to quickly get the fire under control. No structures were damaged in this fire.

The discharge of illegal fireworks is suspected as the cause of this fire, and the incident is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department Arson Unit and the Azusa Police Department.
